PS3 Controllers are acting unusual.. DESPERATE FOR Enable

So, earlier nowadays I was enjoying my nice game of Assassain's Creed when all of the sudden, i obtain a message saying "Usb highest energy restrict reached". I had viewed it earlier and disregarded it yet again. then about five seconds immediately after that, the system completelty shut down along with the electrical power button flashed red again and again once again. I received rid of it somehow and moved on like "WTF?" Then, i turn on my ps3 and select up my controller and press the ps button. Very well, i when i did, there was no sign of connection concerning the ps3 and my PS3 controller. So, i waited and waited... and waited, but nonetheless no response. I easily picked up my laptop and typed in my challenge to test and find out what was incorrect, but absolutely nothing appeared to match my predicament.. I admit my usb cord is ripped about the finish nevertheless it orginally even now charged and I can’t get any electrical power by any rockband or guitar hero adapters.. so i figured it was my ps3... so what do i do now?
